A story about coffee
Auromar Panama is a Brenes-Eleta family project focused on producing premium Geisha coffees and other selected Arabicas in a sustainable, environmentally friendly environment. The Finca La Aurora estate is located in the highland rainforest of Candela, Chiriquí, in western Panama, in an area considered one of the most important terroirs for Panamanian Geisha.
Finca La Aurora covers 30.5 hectares, of which approximately 14.5 hectares are dedicated to coffee production, while the rest remains preserved highland rainforest. The coffee is grown in the heavy shade of indigenous tree species and highland Hass avocados, creating a stable microclimate with little temperature variation between day and night. Due to the altitude, the harvest begins late, usually in late December, and continues until mid-March.
Auromar is best known for its Geisha variety, but it also develops limited plantations of Tekisic, Pacamara and Lupao varieties. All production is based on hand-picking optimally ripe coffee cherries, careful selection and careful processing. Cascara Geisha Auromar is the dried shell or fruit part of the Geisha coffee cherry variety, which is why it expresses fruity sweetness, gentle acidity and an elegant, pure fruit character in the cup.
WHAT IS CASCARA
Cascara is an aromatic drink obtained from the shells of coffee cherries, which are usually discarded during the normal coffee processing process. However, at the Auromar coffee estate, these shells are carefully collected and processed in a special way to preserve all their natural flavors and properties. The dried shells are then prepared into a refreshing drink that is full of fruity and floral notes, with subtle citrus tones and a slight sweet aftertaste.
